On November 2-9, 2008 in USURT was the third international congress of representatives of local groups EATS, General assembly of the European association of students of transport universities.

    The aims of assembly:

  • an exchange of opinions and offers on the future way of transport development association;
  • acquisition of experience of carrying out the international meeting for the subsequent work of USURT local group;
  • discussion and signing the Charter of the organization.

    During the assembly students and postgraduate students of USURT have shown interest not only to activity of transport association but also to transport sphere as a whole. The meeting participants have visited Railway Transportation Control Center, the Educational centre, carload and locomotive depot on the Sverdlovsk-Sortirovochnui station, the educational centre on the Shartash station. Visiting enterprises of the Sverdlovsk railway have made on participants strong impression, they have in full put value on a high technological level of these enterprises. The visit of foreign students was covered in the regional newspaper and in the reporting on TV ("Vesti-ural").

    The last meeting contributed to the increase of image of JSC "Russian Railway", the Sverdlovsk railway, USURT, Ekaterinburg and Russia as a whole.

    Signing of the charter of association has officially generated the International student's organization of the European transport universities.
